Garnet is said to be a stone which represents strength and safety and is also the birthstone of January.
I set this stunning deep red heart shaped Indian garnet cabochon, which measures 12x12mm into a vintage style bezel setting which I handcrafted to showcase the stone perfectly. I soldered this onto a hand forged pear shaped silver loop, which I added textures to, and then oxidised the whole piece and polished so that the recessed areas remain dark. This adds a real depth and moodiness to the piece, and compliments the deep red colour of the stone really well. I then hung the pendant on an 18" Sterling Silver chain. This is a really beautiful and unusual one off piece.
